Oven Cleaning Tips

A clean oven isn't just about appearances — it improves cooking performance, prevents smoke and odors, and can even extend the life of your appliance. Whether you have a gas or electric oven, these tried-and-true cleaning methods will keep it spotless in 2025 and beyond.

The Baking Soda Method (Natural Clean)

1. Remove the racks. Take out all racks and any loose items from the oven.
2. Make a paste. Mix ½ cup of baking soda with enough water to form a spreadable paste.
3. Apply the paste. Spread the paste all over the interior of the oven, avoiding the heating elements. Focus on greasy spots.
4. Let it sit overnight. Allow the paste to work for at least 12 hours (or overnight).
5. Spray with vinegar. After sitting, spray white vinegar over the baking soda paste. It will foam up.
6. Wipe clean. Use damp cloths or paper towels to wipe away all the residue. Repeat as needed.

Cleaning the Oven Racks

Soak the racks in a bathtub with hot water and a few squirts of dish soap for several hours (or overnight). Then scrub with a brush or scouring pad. For tough grime, sprinkle baking soda on the racks before scrubbing.

Using the Self-Clean Feature
